At the Movies: Firewall

This flick . . . sucked as much dick as a methadone whore looking to score some real junk. Why can't Harrison Ford just let it go? Buddy, you aren't hot shit anymore. We all loved you, but you lost it soon after 'Air Force One.' You started dating that skeleton and you no longer could even pick out a good script. And by the way, you can't do a good Russian accent.
This movie offered nothing interesting or new. Bank robbery scheme . . . pretty simple. The producers' strategy here was to fill it full of good actors and let them try to save a pretty sorry script. Virginia Madsen needs another Oscar nom role; I just hope she is a better mother than she plays onscreen. Paul Bettany is another one of those great actors to come out of Britain that is just completely wasted on an American screen. He's always pulled good films together to make them pass above the grade (Master & Commander anyone?) but he can't save this boring thriller. Why award an actor a lead and not provide him with a role that can't support his craft? Simply stunning. And whomever was shooting the final fight scene needs to never work in Hollywood again. If you screw up this abysmally; it wasn't meant to happen. We all love Hong Kong action and quick cuts and close zooms but you aren't really getting it. See ya. And for whomever is doing the casting . . . hire some fucking kids that aren't so annoying you find yourself rooting for them to die. Doneski.
